Shane Co not honoring their refund

My fiance purchased a ring without telling me from the Woodbury shane co., proposed to me, then we started ring shopping together. I didnt like the mountings at Shane Co (very basic and small variety, no designers especially now that they're BANKRUPT), so we went to go refund the ring. It hadn't even been 30 days yet (they have a 60 day guarantee) and we were refused anything but store credit/exchanges because they had filed for Chapter 11, YET they are running their business as NORMAL. I am going to small claims court to try to get the money back, and reporting them. If they want to remain a competitor in their industry, they should RESPECT their guarantees and warranties as a business ESPECIALLY if they are still operating as normal. I don't know much about law, or court ordered mandates, but I know that as a company who claims to be your friend in the diamond business, they should AT least stay true to their guarantees/warranties. An engagement ring is NO small investment, and it is something that you will have for the rest of your life. Being in the industry they are in, they should KNOW this and understand it. I am beyond disgusted and angry with them myself, and I swear that I will get what's MINE. As a company, you can still stand true to your guarantees/warranties. Especially being in this industry. BTW, through the media, it seems as though all of the Denver locations seem to be claiming to continue honoring warranties for all jewelry bought. I am not just a angry customer here, but I feel what Shane Co is doing is NOT righteous for ANYONE. Why should you NOT go to Shane co? They do NOT even have quality diamonds there. Personally, the sales guy who helped my fiance didnt even go over the cut grade of the diamond! You dont even know what you are buying, and they offer such a small selection of mountings for engagement rings. No designer mountings. Everything is BASIC there. I wouldnt recommend it, and I now see why they were going BANKRUPT! We went shopping around at a lot of other jewelers, and Shane Co is the worst. |
Minnesota Jewelry Store Information
Jewelry stores often stock several basic items. Common jewelry pieces include watches, necklaces, rings, and earrings. These are the types of jewelry that most people purchase for special occasions such as birthdays, engagements, Valentines Day, and Christmas. Jewelers can answer most of you questions and help you pick a special bracelet, pendant, or diamond jewelry gift for your significant someone.
Jewelry prices can often be negotiated since the markup can be as high as 400%. For years gold, silver, platinum, and diamonds have always commanded a large price, but with a little negotiation, you can get a remarkable bargain from a Minnesota jewelry store at a substantial savings off the sticker price.
